MEET THE DOCTORS

DR. KEVIN LILLY

Education: Dr. Lilly graduated from Sioux City North High School in 1985. He attended the University of Iowa for his undergraduate education. In 1988, he entered the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and graduated in 1992. Following graduation, he was accepted into an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he gained advanced training in a wide range of treatments.

Professional Memberships and Awards: Dr. Lilly is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Sioux City Dental Society and Academy of General Dentistry. He formerly served as the president of the Northwest District of the Iowa Dental Association and on several councils for the Iowa Dental Association.

Dr. Kevin Lilly earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2000, only eight years after graduating from dental school. To apply for this award, a dentist must complete over 500 hours of certified continuing education. The second half of the process involved a rigorous examination with questions covering all aspects of dentistry, including the specialty areas. Less than one percent of all dentists earn this award, and most who do have been in practice for well over 15 years.

Community Service: Alongside the team at Lilly Family Dentistry, Dr. Lilly participates in the many community outreach programs that the practice takes part in. He has partnered with the Gospel Mission of Sioux City, the American Dental Association, the Iowa Mission of Mercy, as well as hosting the Dentistry from the Heart event, all to provide local residents and families with free dental care and education.

Dr. Lilly and his staff have become very involved in the community. They love to volunteer at the local Foodbank, work with Support Siouxland Soldiers, they have created teams to run/walk in local races, participate in local health fairs, and they have adopted the road that runs in front of the practice, and make sure it is cleaned up throughout the year. Dr. Lilly is also a great supporter of many local teams, and other community fundraising events. He truly enjoys giving back to the community in any way that he can!

Continuing Education: Dr. Lilly keeps up with the latest developments in dentistry through his commitment to continuing education. The state of Iowa requires dentists to attend 30 hours of continuing education every two years. Dr. Lilly regularly exceeds this requirement. 

Family: Dr. Kevin Lilly and Dr. Jane Lilly have been happily married since 1992. They have two sons, Carter born in 1995 and Jake born in 1996.

DR. JANE LILLY

Education: Dr. Jane Lilly graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. During the course of her undergraduate education, she received her certification as an EMT and served as a member of the Illinois Emergency Medical Services on campus. Dr. Lilly attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where she earned her DDS degree in 1992. Following graduation, she was accepted into the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. The purpose of the AEGD program is to achieve advanced training in more complex aspects of dental treatment in order to provide patients with excellent care.

Professional Memberships and Awards: Dr. Lilly is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, and of the Sioux City Dental Society. She has also been a member of the American Orthodontic Society since 2011. She has been a board member for the Council on Legislation and Iowa Dental Political Action Committee of the Iowa Dental Association. Dr. Lilly has served as president of the Sioux City Dental Society and as a board member on the Council on Dental Health. During her dental training at the University of Iowa, she earned the Dean’s Award for Excellence four years in a row.

Community Service: In the past, Lilly Family Dentistry has provided the residents and workers of the Gospel Mission with needed dental care at no cost. The dental office participates in the annual Iowa Mission of Mercy, and started hosting a Dentistry from the Heart event, these are all events that provide free dental care for many people in our community.

Dr. Jane Lilly has volunteered for the National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM). She gave dental health presentations and donated toothbrushes, floss, and toothpaste to many children in the Sioux City public and private schools.

In 2003, the American Dental Association held its 1st annual “Give Kids a Smile!” Day. Lilly Family Dentistry participated in this event for several years, providing free dental treatment to children whose families are not able to afford or do not have access to dental care.

Continuing Education: Dr. Lilly receives dental continuing education credits well beyond the requirements of the State of Iowa to provide her patients with the best of what dentistry has to offer.

Family: Married to Dr. Kevin Lilly, Dr. Jane Lilly has two wonderful children, Jake and Carter.

DR. PHUONG NGUYEN

Education: Dr. Nguyen attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for her undergraduate degree in biochemistry. She graduated from the University Of Nebraska Medical Center College Of Dentistry with a DDS degree in 2015. Upon graduation, she earned the honor of highest distinction.

Professional Memberships and Awards: Dr. Nguyen is a member of the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry. During dental school, she received the Hanau Best of the Best in Prosthodontics Award for her excellence in the study and clinical applications of prosthodontics.

Community Service: Dr. Nguyen has been involved in Mission of Mercy, Sharing Clinic, and Children’s Dental Day.

Continuing Education: Dr. Nguyen is always trying to further her education by taking continuing education courses. She is currently taking a course in orthodontics in order to provide her patients with options to enhance their smiles.

Other: Dr. Nguyen got married in June 2015 to her husband, Nick. They enjoy playing tennis together and trying new food wherever they travel to.

Dr. JOE KAYL

Education: Dr. Joe (Joseph) Kayl is originally from Bronson, Iowa where he was born and raised. He attended Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City, Iowa and Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for his undergraduate work. Dr. Kayl is a 2023 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.

Professional Memberships and Awards: He participated in the dental fraternity, Delta-Sigma-Delta, and received the Dr. Milton S. and Alice Wirtz Scholarship for clinical excellence.

Community Service: Dr. Kayl is a lifelong Siouxland native and is looking forward to getting involved in his community and the many community service events that the Lilly office traditionally participates in.

Continuing Education: Dr. Kayl is excited to begin putting into practice all that he learned in dental school. He is a fan of continuing education courses and plans to continue to grow his knowledge in dentistry. He believes that evidence-based dentistry has shown that a healthy mouth relates to a healthy body, meaning improvement in oral health, leads to an enhanced quality of life. He plans to continue to learn more about Invisalign, preventive oral health education, crowns, fillings, and dentures and surgical procedures, including crown lengthening, bone grafts, and complicated tooth extractions.

Family: Dr. Kayl is excited to begin his dental career back in his hometown where he can be close to his family in Siouxland. He looks forward to spending time with his family, including his niece and nephew, and to help on his family farm in Ponca, Nebraska. Being an athlete in high school and college, Dr. Kayl is looking forward to building relationships in the community and spending some time golfing, playing basketball, and enjoying all that Sioux City has to offer.

MEET THE STAFF

My name is Judy and I have been a hygienist at Lilly Family Dentistry since 2000. My career here has been better than I expected. I have, with guidance of Dr. Kevin and Dr. Jane, grown so much as a hygienist and health care provider. Most of my patients have become longtime friends and some I consider family.

In my spare time I love to bike, horseback ride, cook healthy meals and meet up with friends and family.

Hi, my name is Rocio.  I graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Western Iowa Tech Community College in May 2015.  I started working at Lilly Family Dentistry in July 2015.  I am very thankful to be a part of a great team!

I have a boyfriend, Hugo, and a daughter, Aliyana.  We love doing a lot of family events, traveling and spending time with our family and friends.  I love to watch movies and go to Starbucks.

Hi, my name is Shelly! I graduated from University of South Dakota Dental Hygiene Program in 2017. I have been a part of the Lilly Family team since I graduated. In my free time I enjoy watching my two sons play sports. We enjoy boating and going on road trips. We also enjoy spending lots of time with our puppy Otis!

I am originally from Nebraska and received by hygiene degree from UNMC College of Dentistry in Lincoln. My favorite part of dental hygiene is getting to know my patients.

In my free time I love to garden, cycle and spend too much time with my cat. Sometimes I even hang out with my spouse.

Hi, my name is Amanda but you can call me Mandy. I was born and raised right here in Sioux City. I am married and have two beautiful children, Alexander and Alivia.

I have been a Dental Assistant for 9 years! I have worked at other offices besides Lilly Family Dentistry, but I have to tell you, I enjoy working here more than anywhere else, EVER!

I started working at the front desk at Lilly Family Dentistry in April 2014. I was born and raised here in Sioux City but now live in Hinton. My husband Nate and I have a daughter, Scarlet and a son, Weston. In my free time I enjoy spending time outside, golfing, and reading.

My name is Jenn. I became a member of the Lilly Family in February 2021. Prior to, I was working as a vet technician since July 2017. I married my best friend, Adrian, in June 2017 and with that my family became much bigger! Blended we have 6 children-5 daughters and a son. Their names are Elainna, Lilliana, Jaycie, Laikyn, Myka and Avery. Needless to say, we stay busy!

We both enjoy video and board gaming, backyard campfires and dance parties in our living room!

With that being said, I’m grateful to be working for a company that is so family oriented and cares for the well being of not only the patients, but staff too. I trust the dentists whole heartedly with my family’s dental care as I see their dedication and will to help each and every patient they see.

Hello! I was born and raised in Sioux City and am an East High School graduate. I graduated at Western Iowa Tech Dental Assisting Program in 2009.
In my free time I like to read books and spend time with my husband and daughter.

My name is Gina and I am a dental hygienist. I have been in dentistry since 1994, and have been with Lilly Family Dentistry since the spring of 2010. I really enjoy working with the friendly staff and know that I am working at an office that is on the cutting edge of dentistry. Outside of the office I enjoy gardening, walking, spending time with my family and raising my two children.

My name is Janna. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of South Dakota in 2008. I joined Lilly Family Dentistry in 2010 and have enjoyed working in a friendly and technologically advanced practice. My favorite qualities of this office are the close-knit staff and inviting atmosphere.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have three children, Noah, Gavin, and Zoey who always keep life interesting. I have a deep appreciation for music and love going to concerts. Some of my other hobbies include painting, drawing, and sewing.

Hi, my name is Alex! I graduated from WITCC Dental Assisting Program in 2020. I am currently in school at USD for my bachelors in Dental Hygiene. I love my coworkers and look forward to getting to know my patients!

I spend a lot of time with my sisters, mom and dog. My favorite food is anything potato. I love music and nature. You might catch me on my days off with my friends and boyfriend.

Hi, my name is Anna! I am from Sergeant Bluff, IA and I graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2021. A couple months after graduating I was lucky enough to join this awesome team at Lilly Family Dentistry!

In my free time I love to travel. And when I’m not traveling I can be found reading a book, binge watching a tv show or spending time with my family and friends or my cats Bear and Chloe.

Hi, my name is Montanna! I am originally from Le Mars but I am currently living in Sioux City. I went to Western Iowa Tech Community College in 2021 for the Dental Assisting Program. I started working at Lilly Family Dentistry in November 2022 and it was the best decision. The staff is amazing and the atmosphere is so welcoming!

In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to concerts and binge watching my favorite TV shows, cooking.baking and watching a new show or movie.

Hello, my name is Leeza! I graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College Dental Assistant Program in 2023. I was born in New York, raised in Mexico, and moved to Sioux City when I was 10 and have been here ever since. This is my first job as a dental assistant at Lilly Family Dentistry and I am loving it so far!

I enjoy being outdoors, traveling with my family and boyfriend, going to concerts and trying new things. I am excited for my future at this practice and meeting all of our patients!

Hi, my name is Katie! I graduated from WITCC Dental Assisting Program in 2018. I am originally from Colorado but moved to Iowa with my family when I was young. I now live in Primghar with my husband, Dan and son, Gavin. Outside of the office I’m either spending time with my two favorite people or close friends. My favorite activities are horseback riding, drawing/painting, and fishing.

Hi! My name is Kris. I began working at the front desk at Lilly Family Dentistry in March 2012. I was born in Colorado Springs, CO but grew up in Sioux City, spending my summers in the Denver, CO area. I graduated from North High School and then went on to WITCC.

I met my husband Brian on a blind date and it was love at first sight!! Brian is a service technician for Goodwin Tucker. We have two children. Our son, Ryan, lives and works here in the Sioux City area. Our daughter, Ashley, and her husband, Ryan, are in Sioux Falls. They provide us with our two granddogs, Jax and Aspen. When I am not at work, I enjoy cooking/baking, traveling, reading, and playing games. But most of all spending time with my family and friends!!

Hi, my name is Zaira! I’m originally from California but was raised in South Sioux City, NE. I got my associates from Northeast Community College in 2018. I joined Lilly Family Dentistry in November 2020 as the first Spanish speaker to work front desk.

In my free time I like to spend time with my boyfriend Luis and our friends and family. I enjoy traveling, watching movies, and shopping. You can probably find me at a coffee shop reading a book, or at the gym.

Hello, I’m Bri! I was born in Maryland but grew up in Sioux City, IA, where my family is originally from. I graduated from East High School. I went to Concorde College in Aurora, Colorado in 2017 for the Dental Assisting Program. I’ve spent majority of my Dental Assisting career working in Denver, Colorado and Omaha, Nebraska. I moved back to Sioux City in 2024 to be closer to my family. I have two beautiful kiddos, Aamir and Amaia. I have 2 dogs, Luna and Juju and 2 cockatiel birds, Sweet and Sour.

In my free time, I’m usually spending time with my family and my animals. I love to travel, experience new cultures and make unforgettable memories with my children. I enjoy going to concerts, binge watching true crime shows and baking sweet treats.

Hello, my name is Jasmin! I was born in Iran and grew up in Germany before moving to Sioux City, Iowa. I am bilingual in English and German. I received my medical transcriptionist diploma from Western Iowa Tech Community College in 2010.

I enjoy cooking and spending time with my husband, Jeff, and my two daughters, Laylah and Alexandria. As a family, we enjoy traveling through Europe and spending time with our English Bulldog, Winston.

Hi, my name is Sophia! I was born and raised here in Sioux City, IA. I attended Western Iowa Tech for their Dental Assisting Program in 2023. I came here for my clinical rounds during my schooling, and suddenly fell in love with the people and the environment. Lilly Family Dentistry took me on in May 2024, and I’m loving it. This place is like a 2nd home.

Outside of work, I enjoy hanging out with friends and cuddling with my dog. Some of my hobbies are coloring and listening or singing to music. Music is a big part of who I am and it definitely helps me get through my days. One thing I hope to do in the future is travel with my partner and see the world. I hope patients, current and new, find this office as welcoming as I do.
